It is finally happening, Dressed as a Girl is unleashed on the world of film festivals. Starting this month with a very special screening on home turf as part of the East London Film Festival.
On Tuesday 7th July Jonny Woo is set to perform as part of the East End Film Festival which has been going since 2000 and is now seen as one of the biggest film festivals in the UK. We are very excited about this screening which will take place on Dalsaton Roof Park, as it is our first outdoor screening. Accompanying the film will be the short film Drag Is My Ecttasy directed by Joseph Wilson. A limited number of tickets are available here.
A few days later on Saturday 11 July Dressed as a Girl will makes it's Irish debut at the Galway Film Fleadh and is part of the competition so hopefully we will win audience award! Now in its 27th year, the central goal of the Galway Film Fleadh remains unchanged: to bring together audiences and filmmakers within an intimate environment, and share a common experience – the wonder of cinema. PLUS this is an Oscar Qualifying Festival - so who knows maybe Jonny Woo and cohorts will be at next year's Oscars if we do well here! Get your tickets here.
Later in the month Dressed as a Girl heads to Dublin for the Bank Holiday weekend as part of Gaze International LGBT Film Festival Dublin. We have be given a prime spot at 8.30pm on Screen 1. So expect every cool gay and lesbian in Ireland to be there for this. Please let all your friend, lovers and enemies in Dublin know about this screening! Ticket can be obtained here.
More international film festival dates will be added soon. PLUS some big UK news coming soon.
